Tempranillo

 Eames owns a vineyard in the town of Paonia Colorado on the east side of the Grand Mesa where he raises Pinot Noir which is a rare feat in these parts.  The weather can be harsh here and the Colorado Wine Industry is making adjustments to varietals that are better suited to the conditions.  Tempranillo they are finding deals with the cold better than varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon and it is likely that we will see more of this Spanish varietal in the future.  Eames sourced the grapes for his Tempranillo from the Red Fox Vineyard in Palisade that were lovingly cared for by Ken and Kathryn Stubler. 

Back home in Paonia Eames did his magic and created one of the best wines to ever come out of Colorado. Much like modern styled Tempranillo from Spain there are ample quantities of lush dark fruit up front and silky tannins on the finish.  Not much left  I may have 10-12 bottle left.
