Amon Ra
by Ben Glaetzer
Barossa Valley Shiraz

$107.99

"Deep purple-black in color, the 2010 Amon-Ra is very closed on the nose showing pure black fruits, chocolate and licorice with just a touch of loam. Full-bodied and densely packed, the voluptuous palate is framed by firm, fine tannins and a crisp acid line. It has a long, well-balanced finish. Drink it from 2014-2026+."  97 Points The Wine Advocate

Amon-Ra is considered king of all gods. The temple of Amon-Ra was believed to be the first temple to plant a vineyard to produce wine for its citizens. Rameses 111 lists 513 vineyards belonging to the temple of Amon-Ra. The eye on the front of the label is the all-seeing eye of Horus. The ancient Egyptian eye of Horus or Wedjat ("whole one") is a powerful symbol of protection. The eye of Horus is represented as a figure with six parts, corresponding to the six senses - touch, taste, hearing, thought, sight and smell. Winemaker Ben Glaetzer designed Amon-Ra Shiraz to appeal to all those senses.
