Winemaker Kevin Furtado describes this wine as the classic expression of a Loire valley 100% Cabernet Franc. Under the Chinon Appelation, the wine must be 90% Cabernet Franc, with up to 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has classic notes of green pepper and strawberry on the nose with a slight amount of jalapeno (not in a "bad way"). I also got big spice and pepper on the nose which was confirmed on the palate. I think it is fairly tannic, as well, which is typical of Chinon Cab Francs.
