The 2011 Blau is a blend of 50% Carinena, 25% Syrah and 25% Garnacha from vines aged between 25 and 40 years planted at 600 meters and aged in oak for four months. This crowd-pleasing effort delivers a big mouthful of fruit along with notes of mineral, lavender, blueberry and plum. Forward, tasty, and well balanced, it is an excellent value. Pairs well with paella, pasta, vegetables, mushrooms, stewed meat, sausage, pork, roast meat, red and/or white meat with sauces, grilled meat, and short or medium cheeses.
"Inky purple. Spice-accented aromas and flavors of blackberry, boysenberry and licorice, with black pepper and mineral nuances. Juicy and precise, finishing with very good energy and lingering spiciness. This is still a baby."
