Clos des Moiselles 2009 comes from the Bordeaux appellation of Côtes de Bourg. It was made from a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and 10% Malbec. The soil in Côtes de Bourg are rich in clay and limestone, ideal for producing complex, well-delineated wines that are deep in color, full-bodied and soft in texture. It was crafted by Venezuelan oenologist Oswaldo Hernandez using the most modern winemaking techniques. We have tasted this wine from the great 2009 vintage. In short, it is a superb, classic Bordeaux, worthy of the 91 rating bestowed upon it by wine critic James Suckling.
