For more than 100 years, this domaine has been famous in France for its beautiful Burgundies, only recently have these fine Burgundies made it to the States. The Pinot Noir for this Givry comes from a single 11-acre plot of 35-year-old vines, and the vineyard Cellier Aux Moines has earned the reputation for being the epitome of what Givry can produce. This recently released '09 is a classic, traditional Givry that shows lots of fruit, a dusting of star anise, and a satisfyingly full mouth-feel. This '09 has wonderful approachability, but it can also be held for a number of years.
